IGNW and Cisco team up to support One Warm Coat drive!

No one should go cold this winter.

We are teaming up with our partner Cisco to support the One Coat Drive. After last year’s One Coat Drive success we are striving to have our biggest donation yet, but, we need your help! Please donate any gently used or new coats to IGNW!!

About One Warm Coat

One Warm Coat is a national non-profit organization that works to provide a free, warm coat to any person in need. One Warm Coat supports individuals, groups, companies and organizations across the country by providing the tools and resources needed to hold a successful coat drive. Coats are distributed in the communities where they were collected, to children and adults in need, without charge, discrimination or obligation. Since One Warm Coat’s inception in 1992, we have worked with our volunteers to host more than 31,000 coat drives and have given away more than 5 million coats.

Every $5 warms 10 people. $20 warms 40 people.

Health experts report that even a 2-degree drop in body temperature results in reduced heart rate, loss of coordination, and confusion. Adults cannot work effectively and children find it difficult to learn. For most, a warm coat solves the problem. But, for the nearly 15% of Americans living in poverty, a warm winter coat is a budget “extra.”

Nearly 50 million Americans are currently living in poverty – they are deciding between paying their bills and buying food for their families – a coat is a budget extra they simply cannot afford. Your donation will have an immediate impact on those in need and get us one step closer to ensuring that no one goes cold this winter.

Brandon is grateful for second chances. He received a coat from One Warm Coat this past fall.

He’s trying hard to get his life together, working and going to school to become a welder. Despite his hard work, he would not have been able to afford to purchase a warm coat for himself this year.

Brandon told us “This coat means a lot. I’m starting over, money is real tight. To have a jacket is a blessing. It’s humbling to receive, and hopefully one day I can give back.”

Brandon is especially grateful to the donors that made it possible for him to receive a warm coat. He said, “It’s a blessing to know there are like-mind people like me out there. If the Lord ever blessed me to get to a place where I can help others, I wouldn’t hesitate.”

Brandon told us that the coat he received will push him so far ahead in the future, and for that he is so grateful.
